Medical Education, Recruitment and Health Services
Port Colborne Medical Education, Recruitment and Health Services Committee
This Committee was formed in response to the need to ensure the citizens of Port Colborne have access to Primary Care. The community has experienced a shortage of family physicians and this Committee oversees the recruitment of physicians to Port Colborne.
The Committee also oversees the accommodations of the Medical Students, and ensures they are experiencing a positive clinical placement from the community perspective.
In response to many new changes in the delivery of health care to our community, the Committee also addresses many of these changes, and provides input for council to consider.
The Committee meets the third Monday of every other month, in January, March, May, September and November. Other meetings may be called at the discretion of the Chair. Meetings are 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall in Port Colborne. All meetings are open to the public.
