BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - HVAC

BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - HVAC

 

As a Building Maintenance Technician – Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) you will be responsible for maintenance, prevention, planning, layout, assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical components of facilities including refrigeration, heating & air conditioning equipment on all buildings and related machinery, maintenance of proper records.   You will operate, diagnose and maintain various building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditions (HVAC), building automation systems (BAS), process cooling, glycol systems for cold storage and ice rinks, fire safety equipment, water treatment systems, electrical and some plumbing systems and emergency power.  As part of our Building Maintenance team, you will be responsible to maintain buildings and grounds at various locations. 

 

Completion and Certification of College Program in Building Environmental System (BES) is required and/or equivalent Ministry of Colleges and Universities Apprenticeship Certificate of Qualification 313A – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic.  Standard First Aid CPR, AED, Valid Driver’s License Class “G” and WHMIS is required.

 

Additional trade certifications and experiences would be an asset including:

(a) Gas Fitter 1, Welder;

(b) Certification in Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA);

(c) Security system, closed–circuit television (CCTV) and card access installation

and service experience.

 

The successful candidate will have 5 years’ experience as a maintenance/construction HVAC Technician. Ability to apply provisions of Ontario Building Code-HVAC. Proven experience with HVAC, control systems, transfer switches and back-up generators, VFD’s, Building Automation Systems (BAS), control device experience with pneumatic/electronic controls.

 

This is a full time union position working 40 hours per week with a wage of $28.48 per hour and a competitive benefit package.

CAPITAL ASSET COORDINATOR/ANALYST

CAPITAL ASSET COORDINATOR/ANALYST

 

You will be responsible for the maintenance of the City’s Tangible Capital Asset Accounting Program, coordination, monitoring and recording of the capital budget and preparation of financial reports in compliance with Public Sector Accounting Board.   The successful candidate will posses a University degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance complemented by 4 years of progressive experience in accounting with an emphasis on cost accounting, maintenance and capital asset recording in the public sector (preferably Municipal). A candidate who has a CPA designation is preferred.  The successful candidate must have proficient computerized accounting programs and excel experience, strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 

 

This is a full time union position based on 35 hours per week with an annual salary of $59,142.83 and a competitive benefit and pension package.
